Government sponsorship is available for the students who wish undertake the Basic programmes i.e. the Certificate in Environmental Health Sciences (CEHS) and the Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences (DEHS).

Interested eligible candidates for Government sponsorship can follow the guidelines below;

i. Candidates interested in joining the Certificate in Environmental Health Science (CEHS) course on government sponsorship shall complete forms and sit interviews at the regional centres/venues that will be organized by Ministry of Education and Sports.

ii. Applicants interested in joining the Diploma in Environmental Health Science (DEHS) course on government sponsorship must have filled JAB forms at HSC (A ‘level).

iii. Upgrading DEHS students can fill forms and chose the government sponsorship option if the meet the minimum requirements. (i.e. Credit or CGPA of 3.5.)

School of Hygiene Mbale first started in Mulago Medical School in 1930, and was later transferred to Mbale at the current School of Clinical Officers, then called Medical Assistants Training School (MATS) and which is now elevated to a College of Health Sciences.
